Kettle Creek Inn’s Famous Cheese Burger Soup


  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium sized onion (chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (diced)
  • 4 whole pickles (chopped)
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 l 35% cream
  • 500 ml of 2% milk
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of chopped lettuce
  • 1 tsp of turmeric


Serves 6-8 ppl.

  1. In a medium sized pot pour oil in the bottom and saute onions till tender, then add ground beef. Pour in milk when ground beef is cooked, and let simmer on low.
  2. On the side in another pot pour in the cream, salt, pepper, garlic, and turmeric. Simmer, then add the cheese, ensuring that you stir well. Once the cheese is dissolved turn off the sauce.
  3. In the medium sized pot add the pickles and the cheese sauce. Bring to a light simmer, add the tomatoes, then serve.
